During the September 23, 2011 meeting in Oglala SD, with the council members of L.O.W.O and the members of Gathering Thunder Foundation, it was brought to our attention that there is a dire need for car seats on Pine Ridge.
 
As it currently stands, the number one killer of young children on Pine Ridge is due to the lack of car seats, resulting in accidental automobile deaths.

L.O.W.O has asked GTF to help them stem this tide of premature deaths. As a result of this request, Gathering Thunder has committed to helping provide car seats to the reservation.
