Native American Education Program

In partnership with Grand Rapids Public Schools and its Native American Education Program (NAEP), GTF provides assistance to the local urban native population. Both GTF and NAEP strive to meet the educational and cultural needs of Native American children. GTF supports their children's pow wow, a school supply drive, the bi-monthly native language program instructor, monthly drum and storytelling and the annual holiday party as well as screenings of Native American documentaries. Meeting not only the basic daily requirements but also honoring the heritage and traditions GTF serves a vital role in the community and helps to honor the circle.
