The Gwen Phelps England Scholarship Fund

Mrs. Gwen Phelps England

Gathering Thunder Foundation is pleased to announce that it has created an annual scholarship award in memory of Mrs. Gwen Phelps England of Hawkinsville, Georgia.   Mrs. England’s lifelong passion for the welfare and wellness of Native America and its First Nations People led her to be a constant and generous donor to Gathering Thunder Foundation’s funding for youth programs.

Through her generosity, Gathering Thunder Foundation has continued its work to help Native American youth in crisis.  As an extension of this work, the Gwen Phelps England Scholarship Fund will award an annual scholarship of $1,000.00 to Native American student who is attending to a trade school, technical school, community college, or college or university.

Scholarship applications are now available.

Our fundraising goal for this scholarship fund is $20,000.00.  Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this fund has already reached half of our established goal.  A special thank you goes out to Ms. Laura Smith, who donated a significant portion of the seed monies in memory of her parents, Bob and Nancy Grossman.

All financial contributions to this annual scholarship fund are tax-deductible.

If you would like to make an online donation towards this scholarship fund, please do so via Stripe or PayPal. Both online methods are secure and safe. Of course, mail-in donations are welcome too.
